Life Coaching

Life Coaching is a relatively new profession that began developing in the late 1990's.  I have formally been involved with providing Life Coaching since 2003.  Life Coaching is not Psychological Counseling and is not currently regulated by any licensing board in the 50 states and is considered a separate professional discipline from Psychology or Counseling.  No diagnosis is given and the person is not seen as having an illness.  It is a professional mentoring relationship where the individual is seen as a person capable of assessing where they are currently as an individual and as a result of an interactive mentoring relationship to make the best choices and decisions for their own future.  People who have entered the field of Life Coaching often come from a variety of different disciplines and skill sets including education, business, social sciences, human resources, and clergy/spiritual practitioners providing spiritual direction or mentoring.   Life Coaching is an interactive process that helps individuals to become more effective in obtaining goals.  Life Coaches, among a variety of other areas, may work with individuals on career development, interpersonal relationships, work relationships, or making decisions that would assist them in toward more positive habits supporting well being physically, personally, mentally, relationally, or spiritually.  Life Coaching may not be  appropriate for the services you are seeking.   However, Life Coaching is another alternative for people who do not have a diagnosed mental health or psychological condition and do not want to be given a psychological diagnosis but are just seeking to explore making more effective decisions in their life.  Professional coaches are trained to listen and observe, to customize their approach to the individual's needs, and to elicit solutions and strategies together with the client.  They believe that the client is naturally creative and resourceful and that the coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the individual already has.  While the coach provides feedback and an objective perspective, the individual is responsible for taking the steps to produce the results he or she desires.

Life Coaching is usually provided through online sessions through Zoom; however, in-person Life Coaching sessions can also be scheduled out of  the Dublin, Ohio office; however, most clients that I work prefer to attend sessions through ZoomI can provide Life Coaching services to anyone throughout the United States.   The cost of Individual Life Coaching sessions is $120.00.
