Psychological versus a Spiritual battle?

As mental health professionals we address psychological reasons as to why people struggle with issues.  Some people who ascribe to a Biblical or a Judaeo-Christian faith perspective also believe that spiritual oppression or spiritual bondage can be a cause of an issue.  For someone who does not believe in the supernatural realm the mention of spirituality is seen as a primitive archaic concept that should not have a place in modern approaches toward mental health.  Other spiritual traditions outside of Christianity also have beliefs about attacks by entities or beings in a supernatural world and their potential affect upon us.  Our secular belief systems have discounted the spiritual and assumed that these were just primitive ideas and concepts that need to be rejected as false beliefs.  However, the reality of positive and negative spiritual beings has been a part of our cultures for eons of time. I have learned how to work within each person’s personal belief system.  If someone does not have a belief in spirituality, I will work with them solely from the psychological perspective.  My personal belief system is Christian, and I personally found that when I accepted Christ into my life at the age of 21 that it was the most profound positive life changing experience of my life.  However, in working with people, I also honor and respect other spiritual beliefs outside of Christianity and treat everyone non-judgmentally and with dignity and respect.  http://emapdrschulz.com
